Christmas is a magical time of year, filled with love, laughter and joy. It’s not the presents that make Christmas special, it’s the people you spend it with. No one grows up remembering what gift they were bought when they were 5,6 or 7 years old, but they do remember that excitement, the smiles on people’s faces, the crisp cold wintery walks, log fires, hot chocolate and Christmas songs. Christmas can make even a grown adult feel like a child again.
It’s the food, the drink, the laughter all together around the dining table. It’s the turkey and all the trimmings. It’s the mums that spend the month of December stocking up on treats and hiding them, while the rest of the family search for them. It’s that feeling you get when you first hear the Christmas coca-cola advert on the TV, or family film nights watching the classics such as Miracle on 34th Street, Elf and of course Home Alone!
It’s the tree, carol services, kids nativities and no Christmas is complete without a trip to a winter wonderland. Above all it’s the people, it’s seeing loved ones, it’s coming together with those who mean the most to you, reminiscing of Christmases long ago and of those to come.
The Cors has been the heart of many Christmases, many of our own as a family and many now for our lovely guests. The smell of turkey slowly roasting has floated through the halls, cocktails lined the bar as family laugh and rejoice together. Presents pile under the tree as children run around trying to guess who’s is who’s. Our dining table, which overlooks the views of our scenic garden, is beautifully laid and awaiting the family. After food, the family piles into the cinema room to relax after such a delicious feast.
It’s a season of wonder, of joy and delight. So, may all your days be merry and bright. We would like to wish our old and new guests a very Happy Christmas and New Year!
